Job summary

CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus, NJ is hiring an Infection Control Nurse. The role focuses on planning and directing our infection control program to meet federal, state, and local standards. Salary ranges from $100,000 to $105,000 per year, with benefits for part-time and full-time staff.

The nurse ensures CDC/OSHA compliance, develops precautions, interprets policies, and monitors practices. Requires a nursing degree and relevant clinical experience; APIC certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital, nursing care facility or other related healthcare facility.
• Must have, as a minimum, six (6) months training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic technique to include standard/universal precautions.
• APIC Certification in infection control preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Ensure facility is in compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or standard/universal precautions.
• Develop, maintain, and update infection control precautions and aseptic technique to address problem areas.
• Interpret infection control policies and procedures as necessary.
• Monitor infection control practices to ensure SOPs are followed for tasks involving exposure to blood/body fluids.
• Make rounds to nursing units for case findings, review sanitation procedures, and supervise isolation precautions.
