Hawthorne House, part of First Atlantic Healthcare, is seeking an Infection Control & Prevention Nurse to lead facility-wide infection prevention efforts in Freeport, ME. You will develop procedures, monitor HAIs, and train staff to maintain a safe environment for residents and employees.

The role emphasizes data analysis, education, and compliance with government regulations. Candidates should have nursing licensure in Maine and CIC certification (or plan to obtain).

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant clinical experience for non-nurses; broad RN experience including critical care/emergency/medical-surgical nursing.
• Current Maine RN license; CIC certification can be obtained upon hire.
• Strong communication, data interpretation, and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Infection Prevention Oversight: manage facility-wide HAIs prevention and isolation procedures.
• Data Collection & Analysis: collect, analyze, and interpret health data to plan and guide practices.
• Education & Training: conduct education and training activities for healthcare workers on best practices.
• Documentation & Compliance: read regulations, write reports, and respond to sensitive inquiries.
