Job Description

The Infection Preventionist (IP) ensures the health and safety of residents and staff by managing infection prevention, conducting education sessions, and maintaining compliance with infection control standards.

• Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret epidemiologic data to monitor infection trends (infection control, infection prevention, epidemiology).
• Outbreak Surveillance: Investigate, monitor, and manage outbreaks while implementing control measures (outbreak response, infection tracking).
• Education: Provide in-services and training on infection risks and prevention strategies (infection prevention education, staff training).
• Compliance Monitoring: Conduct daily rounds to ensure adherence to PPE protocols and infection control practices (PPE compliance, infection control compliance).
• Monitor compliance with annual education and training for all staff (mandatory education, nursing competencies, CNA training).
• Conduct new hire orientation focused on nursing staff (orientation program, nursing orientation).
• Manage health files, including physicals, vaccines, and fit testing (health records management, vaccine compliance, N95 fit testing).
• Maintain binders for infection tracking, vaccinations, fit testing, and staff evaluations (infection tracking documentation, survey preparedness, vaccination records).
• Conduct contact tracing and testing during outbreaks, ensuring detailed and accurate documentation (contact tracing, outbreak management).

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related healthcare setting preferred (healthcare supervisor, nurse supervisor).
• At least 6 months of experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices (rehabilitative nursing, restorative nursing).
• Valid LPN or RN license in the state of New Jersey (licensed practical nurse, registered nurse, New Jersey nursing license).
