Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a Travel Infection Control Nurse to support healthcare facilities across rural communities, delivering high-quality infection prevention and control services.

You will assess facilities, implement guidelines, educate staff, and collaborate with teams while traveling between sites, with housing stipend and travel reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum LPN license in good standing in the listed state or active Compact/Multistate license.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in infection prevention and control in healthcare settings.
  • Strong knowledge of CDC guidelines, OSHA regulations, and other infection control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of infection control practices at assigned facilities.
  • Develop and implement infection prevention plans based on current guidelines.
  • Monitor compliance with infection control protocols and recommend improvements.
  • Educate healthcare staff on infection control measures including hand hygiene and isolation precautions.
  • Collaborate with teams to investigate and manage outbreaks of HAIs.
  • Participate in infection control committees and provide expertise on prevention strategies.
  • Collect and analyze data related to infection rates and trends, reporting findings.
  • Stay current with emerging infectious diseases and adjust policies accordingly.

As a Travel Infection Control Nurse, you will embark on a dynamic journey, assisting healthcare providers in delivering top-quality patient care across diverse settings. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring smooth clinic operations, patient satisfaction, and the overall success of healthcare teams by assessing, implementing, and monitoring infection control protocols and practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infection prevention and control, along with the flexibility to work in diverse healthcare settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of infection control practices and procedures at assigned healthcare facilities.
  • Develop and implement infection prevention and control plans based on current guidelines and best practices.
  • Monitor compliance with infection control protocols and recommend improvements as needed.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to investigate and manage outbreaks of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

  • Collect and analyze data related to infection rates and trends, and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging infectious diseases and recommend adjustments to infection control policies accordingly.
Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between healthcare facilities, if applicable.
