Job summary

Kiddie Academy of Odenton is seeking a dedicated classroom teacher to plan, supervise, and support daily activities for preschoolers. You will collaborate with an assistant teacher and communicate with parents to address concerns and celebrate progress.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean environment; preparing lesson plans and instructional materials; coordinating with staff and scheduling parent conferences; and ensuring documentation such as attendance and student notes are up

• Develop instructional aids and materials for activities.
• Assist children with meal times and cleanup.
• Ensure classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and used properly.
• Physically arrange the classroom into well-defined interest areas.
• Direct activities of staff in the classroom to ensure orderly function.
• Communicate appropriate information to parents; maintain developmental profiles.
• Schedule and conduct parent and teacher conferences throughout the year.
• Maintain family information board and other classroom bulletin boards.

Responsible for the daily planning, management, and supervision of the classroom and children. Generally, is assisted in the classroom by an assistant teacher. Is responsible for ensuring that all parents, children, and classroom staff concerns are appropriately addressed.

• Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom are appropriately maintained, in accordance with the NAEYC cleaning and sanitizing guidelines.
