Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Infantry Soldiers to form the backbone of ground combat operations. You will participate in reconnaissance, engage enemy forces, and support mobilization of troops and equipment while training to lead teams in combat or disaster response.

You will train for 14 weeks of Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training and can earn tuition assistance, retirement benefits, and comprehensive health care as part of the Guard program.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED
• Ages 17–35
• Ability to pass a physical exam and meet standards

Responsibilities

• Assist in reconnaissance operations
• Employ, fire, and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines
• Operate weapon systems under various conditions, including night vision sights
• Operate and maintain communications equipment
• Perform as a member of a fire team during training and combat missions
• Process prisoners of war and captured documents
• Aid in the mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry
• Use, maintain, and store combat weapons (rifles, machine guns, etc.)
