Overview
Congressional School seeks a full-time Early Childhood Teaching Assistant for our Infant/Toddler program. The individual should enjoy working with children ages 6 weeks to 2 years old. The position is on float rotation with traditional hours from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Join a collaborative classroom team and assist in planning and implementing the daily program.
- Actively supervise the classroom and playgrounds and observe, interact, and engage with children.
- Maintain proper adult-to-child ratios with each age grouping and classroom.
- Monitor the playground and classroom at all times.
- Assist with meals and snacks.
- Follow the daily staffing schedule and assist other classrooms as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with infants and toddlers.
- Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a child-related field or a child development/early childhood credential.
- Ability to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds and regularly bend, stoop, and crouch to interact with children and ensure their safety.
- Clear and effective communication with children, parents, and co-workers.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting hourly rate is 17.00 per hour and up based on experience. Work day begins at 9:00 am and concludes at 6:00 pm, with a 1-hour break. Ample opportunities for professional development are available.
