Infant/Toddler Teacher
Infant and toddler teachers are essential in fostering the cognitive, emotional, and social development of preschoolers. They work with children from birth to age 5, emphasizing the importance of teaching fundamental social skills through engaging, play-centered learning experiences. These educators create a nurturing environment that prioritizes creativity and exploration over rigid curricular standards.
Typical Duties:
Infant and toddler teachers engage in a variety of activities designed to support children's development. Their primary focus is on helping children learn to share toys and materials, articulate their feelings, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with peers. They encourage children to follow their natural curiosities, facilitating exploration and discovery. Additionally, teachers play a significant role in enhancing children's language skills by introducing new vocabulary through storytelling, music, and conversations, ultimately laying the foundation for effective communication as they grow. By fostering a supportive and interactive learning atmosphere, these educators help children build confidence and social competence that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation and performance of curriculum within the Infant/Toddler classroom at their facility to a TRS 4-star level;
Create a positive and inclusive classroom where everyone feels valued and respected.
Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and serve as a positive role model for staff.
Manage activities like lessons, play, breaks, and meals
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a Infant/Toddler teacher in an early childhood education;
2+ years total experience onsite in a Texas-licensed early education center;
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum implementation, classroom preparation and management, and age-appropriate conscious discipline;
Demonstrated knowledge of accreditations, including Texas Rising Star and National Association for the Education of Young Children;
Demonstrated ability to execute classroom observations, assessments, development plans;
Strong leadership, mentorship, and partnership skills with other site level administration;
Ability to analyze and interpret student data to inform instructional decisions;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills; and
Must pass a background check and have a valid driver license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
