Centro de la Familia de Utah seeks a dedicated Infant Toddler Teacher to provide a nurturing and educational environment for our toddlers. You will implement developmentally appropriate activities and collaborate with families to support each child’s growth and well-being.

The role emphasizes inclusive practices, bilingual communication, and adherence to CACFP guidelines, with a March–November academic year and a supportive onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Possession of the Infant/Toddler CDA credential is required.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s permit within one month of hire.
• Must be able to work with children with special needs and limited English.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing classroom environment where toddlers can learn and play.
• Plan daily activities supporting physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development.
• Tailor activities to meet the needs of children with special requirements (IFSPs/IEPs).
• Build relationships with families through home visits and parent–teacher conferences.
• Ensure supervision, safety, and health policy adherence.
• Support development across physical, social/emotional, cognitive, and language domains.

Academic Year Schedule: March to November

Responsibilities

• Create a captivating classroom environment where toddlers can learn and play while adhering to early childhood education best practices.
• Plan and execute daily activities that support toddlers’ physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development using our curriculum.
• Tailor activities to meet the unique needs of children with special requirements, helping them shine even brighter.
• Foster a warm and respectful atmosphere where toddlers can thrive, encouraging their freedom, responsibility, and dreams.
• Build relationships through home visits and parent‑teacher conferences.
• Adhere to all supervision, safety, and health policies and procedures.
• Actively supervise and engage with children, ensuring their safety and well‑being.
• Support children to develop and practice appropriate behaviors individually and in groups.
• Promote children’s physical, social/emotional, cognitive, and language development through culturally and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Create a classroom environment defined by positive, warm, caring, and respectful interactions with children.
• Demonstrate awareness of and responsiveness to children’s emotional, physical, and educational needs, fostering freedom of expression and autonomy.
• Collaborate with teachers to engage children in activities and maintain a classroom that offers ongoing learning opportunities.
• Recognize bilingualism and biliteracy as strengths and encourage practices that support dual‑language learners.
• Encourage learning through interaction with nature and the natural environment.
• Assist in implementing suitable learning activities for children with IFSPs and IEPs.
• Set an example by using proper grammar, maintaining an appropriate voice level, and speaking clearly.
• Strictly adhere to CACFP rules, ensuring sanitation during mealtimes and following guidelines for family‑style meal service.
• Comfortably and safely assist with physical caregiving tasks, including lifting children, changing diapers, feeding infants with bottles, and sitting on the floor during activities or circle time.

Requirements

Possession of the Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is required, along with additional experience and training dedicated to the world of toddlers. Exceptions may be made for those who demonstrate the potential to work with infants and toddlers, pledging to attain the Infant/Toddler CDA within six months of joining our enchanted guild.
