Job summary

Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning is seeking an Assistant Director to lead curriculum delivery and ensure high-quality, safe, nurturing classrooms. You will guide Curriculum & Instruction Coaches, Lead Teachers, and other staff, reporting to the Center Director to shape the center's policies and culture.

You will support day-to-day operations, oversee the center in the Director's absence, and ensure onboarding, training, and DHS/OCDEL/NAEYC compliance across the teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education or Human Services.
• 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in people management and conflict resolution.
• U.S. work authorization and successful completion of background checks and clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Center Director in ensuring staff deliver high-quality, child-centered education.
• Support teaching teams in curriculum application and classroom safety procedures.
• Ensure classrooms and learning environments are properly equipped and maintained.
• Develop and maintain teaching staff schedules.
• Coordinate enrollment opportunities with Family Success team.
• Oversee child developmental assessments execution and delivery.
• Provide timely, relevant communication to families and support family engagement staff.
• Oversee onboarding and ongoing staff training and development.
• Ensure policies and procedures safeguard health and safety in compliance with DHS/OCDEL and NAEYC standards.
• Provide feedback through performance evaluations and optimize daily operations with Center Director.
