We are situated on 1.5 acres of forested outdoor classroom space which offers our children and teachers opportunities to explore the woods, garden, go for nature walks, and grow through experiential learning strategies. Duties

The role of Lead Teacher provides an opportunity to use your skills and knowledge as an educator. You will utilize your classroom management, early learning standards, curriculum development, and communication skills to manage the needs of your classroom.

Requirements

Prior to Hire:

18 years old
HS Diploma or equivalent
Negative TB Test
Medical Report/Health Questionnaire
Fingerprinting and a Background check (we pay the fee)

After Hire:

Complete First Aid and CPR training within 90 days (we pay the fee)
NC DHHS Trainings (Paid Training!)

Additional requirements include 5-20 hours of annual training based on your position, education, and experience. Strong preference is given to candidates with at least 9 credits in ECE. Candidates with degrees in other fields are also encouraged to apply! Class of 2024 college graduates are welcome.

Nice to Have

Good written and oral communication skills

Experience in early childhood education, completion of EDU 119, CDA certification, or NCECAC Level I Certification are beneficial. We are happy to train the right person, offering free college tuition or CDA training.
