Job summary

Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning is seeking an Associate Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering the early childhood curriculum and assessment processes, while actively engaging families in classroom experiences.

This role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration, with responsibilities including observing child development, maintaining classroom routines, and stepping in for the Lead Teacher when needed.

Qualifications

• Current Child Development Associate credential or at least 12 college credits in early childhood education.
• 1–3 years experience working with children birth - 5 years.
• Knowledge of NAEYC standards and PBIS preferred.
• Comfortable engaging with families and using technology.

Responsibilities

• Implement classroom lesson plans linked to child outcomes and classroom routines.
• Participate in classroom coaching cycles.
• Enhance social, emotional, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities.
• Supervise and provide a safe, nurturing environment for children.
• Observe, assess, and document each child’s health, skills, behavior, growth, and development.
• Assist Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily education program.
• Maintain daily communication with families via multiple channels.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements.
