Job description

Wee Friends Early Childhood Program in South Bend, IN, is currently hiring. We are seeking energetic, friendly, intelligent, flexible, compassionate, and good-humored teachers to join our team. Pay Range

This range is provided by Wee Friends Early Childhood Program. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Compensation details:

  • Starting at $18.00/hour for applicants with a bachelor’s degree, higher for more qualified applicants.
  • Starting at $17.00/hour for applicants with an associate degree, CDA, High Scope Certification, or college classes.
  • Paid winter break (2 weeks), summer break (2 weeks), plus an additional 9 days of paid time off (PTO) and 5 paid holidays.
  • Simple IRA retirement plan with employer matching up to 3%.
Work Environment and Requirements
  • Relaxed, enjoyable work environment with exceptional teacher-to-child ratios (2 full-time co-teachers to 8 infants/toddlers), allowing for child-centered and emergent curriculum.
  • Minimum requirement: an associate degree, CDA, High Scope Certification, or college classes; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience working with young children preferred, but new college graduates are welcome.
  • Ability to work until 5:30 p.m. daily.
  • Physical ability to lift 40 pounds, squat/kneel at eye level, and move capably.
  • Must provide personal/professional references, pass a background check, and pass substance testing.
