Job summary

Goddard School in Goddard, KS seeks an Infant Teacher to provide safe, nurturing care and stimulating activities for babies, supporting their emotional, social and physical development in a warm, collaborative classroom.

You will partner with families, follow health and safety protocols, and implement developmentally appropriate curricula, while contributing to a loving team focused on early learning foundations.

Qualifications

  • Prior infant care experience in daycare, preschool, or nannying setting.
  • Knowledge of infant/toddler development principles.
  • Experience with classroom management in early childhood environments.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to engage families and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive care to infants, ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities promoting sensory exploration, motor skills, language development, and social interaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily routines, developmental progress, and health updates.
  • Foster positive behavior management strategies that support independence and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians to share insights on progress and concerns.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies for learning and safety.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures and infection control measures.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to engage children through nurturing caregiving, playful learning activities, and positive behavior management strategies
  • Familiarity with early childhood education best practices and curriculum planning for infant care
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families and team members
