Job summary

The Goddard School of Shelton, CT is seeking a passionate Infant/Lead Teacher to join our team. Lead daily activities, inspire young minds, and collaborate with a supportive staff to deliver developmentally appropriate experiences.

Responsibilities include implementing age-appropriate lessons, maintaining a safe classroom, communicating with families, and participating in ongoing professional development to support growth and excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience with young children in licensed childcare or preschool preferred.
• Has completed state-required pre-service training.
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, families and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum and Instruction: implement age-appropriate lesson plans using our Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Classroom Management: create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Family Communication: maintain open, effective communication with families about progress and activities.
• Health and Safety: supervise children to uphold health standards and licensing regulations.
• Professional Development: participate in ongoing training to enhance teaching skills.
• Assessment and Documentation: observe and document children's learning to inform activities.
• Team Collaboration: support Assistant Teachers and Resource Teachers.
• Behavior Guidance: model positive guidance strategies for social-emotional growth.
