About SAGE PREP

At SAGE PREP, we believe children are capable of more than the world often expects of them, and that belief begins in our infant rooms. The first year of life is when the foundation for language, trust, and curiosity is built. Our infant teachers create that foundation through warm, attentive care and a language-rich environment where every coo, babble, and first word is met with a response.

Who You Are

You love babies, and families can feel it the moment they walk into your classroom. You are patient, gentle, and deeply attentive, noticing the small cues that tell you an infant is hungry, tired, or ready to explore. You take safety seriously in every detail, from safe sleep practices to bottle handling. You stay calm and organized in a room that rarely slows down, and you communicate with families in a way that helps them feel confident leaving their child in your care.

What You’ll Do
Nurturing Care
  • Provide responsive, loving care that builds secure attachments with each infant
  • Follow each infant’s individual feeding, sleeping, and diapering schedule
  • Prepare and serve bottles and age-appropriate foods according to family instructions, CACFP guidelines, and safe handling procedures, including proper labeling and storage of breast milk and formula
Safety and Supervision
  • Follow safe sleep practices at all times: infants placed on their backs to sleep, in an approved crib, with nothing else in the crib
  • Complete and document regular sleep checks
  • Provide active supervision and maintain proper ratios at all times
  • Follow all health, sanitation, and diapering procedures to prevent the spread of illness
  • Respond to emergencies according to SAGE PREP policies and procedures
Early Learning and Development
  • Create a language-rich environment by talking, singing, narrating daily routines, and reading to infants every day
  • Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities that support motor, sensory, language, and social-emotional growth
  • Encourage tummy time, exploration, and early milestones
  • Observe and document each infant’s development and share observations with leadership
Family Partnership
  • Complete accurate daily reports in ProCare, including feedings, diapering, naps, and activities
  • Greet families warmly at drop-off and pickup and share positive updates about their child’s day
  • Refer questions about developmental progress to the Director or Assistant Director, who lead progress conversations with families
Classroom Environment
  • Keep the classroom clean, sanitized, organized, and inviting
  • Maintain toys and materials in safe, sanitary condition
  • Follow SAGE PREP’s uniform and personal phone policies; personal phones are not used in classrooms except for ProCare
What You Bring
Required
  • A genuine love for infants and very young children
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience caring for infants in a childcare or early learning setting
  • Knowledge of safe sleep practices and infant care routines
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate records
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Current Infant and Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification, or the ability to obtain it within your first 20 days
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting
Preferred
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with an infant/toddler focus
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Experience in a Quality Rated program
  • Experience using ProCare or a similar family communication app
