Job summary

Trinity College Community Child Center is seeking a qualified, full-time Infant Teacher Assistant to join our team of Early Childhood Educators. Our teachers work in a team of three, including a Lead Teacher and two Teacher Assistants. We are located on the Trinity College campus, serving children from the Trinity community, Hartford, and surrounding areas.

Our teachers receive training based on the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards, Creative Curriculum, and participate in monthly workshops and staff meetings. Benefits include subsidized medical insurance, vision, free dental insurance, sick leave, and paid time off. Compensation is based on education and experience. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) for the full year.

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher in managing the classroom operations, maintain a positive environment, adhere to state and departmental mandates, and follow NAEYC best practices.

Requirements
  • Minimum one year experience with children aged 6 weeks to 18 months in a childcare setting
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; or 12 college credits in Early Childhood verified by the Office of Early Childhood; or current Infant/Toddler CDA with additional experience
  • Knowledge of Connecticut’s Early Learning and Development Standards
  • Current CPR & First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within one month
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and physical stamina to support children throughout the day
  • Flexible schedule within 7:30 am - 5:30 pm hours
  • Creativity and ability to inspire children

Up-to-date physical with negative TB test, registered and current in BCIS system.
