Job summary

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a full-time Academic Professional to support a research project.Responsibilities include data collection, participant contact, recruitment, and data entry, with travel to participants’ homes and local clinics as needed.

Additional duties include collecting biospecimens, data management, and developing training materials. Strong organization and communication skills are required; a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (psychology, community or public health, nursing, social work etc.).
• Experience interacting with women, parents or the public.
• Experience with infants and young children.
• Solid computer skills, MS Office.
• CITI Human Subject trainings.
• Valid driver's license.
• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience conducting interviews (phone/in-person).
• Experience with human subjects research.
• Experience managing databases.
• Phlebotomy training and license.

Responsibilities

• Perform cognitive and physical assessments of newborns, older infants and preschool-age children.
• Conduct interviews and collect biological specimens.
• Drive to participants' homes, clinics and hospitals as needed.
• Data entry and participant tracking/re-consent.
• Develop and strengthen research protocols and training materials.
• Administrative tasks as needed.
