Job summary

Biltmore Church is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Infant - Pre-K program in Arden, NC. This full-time role supports the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom for children from infancy through pre-K.

The assistant works closely with the Lead Teacher and Academy team to support physical, cognitive, language, emotional, social, and spiritual development, with duties varying by enrollment and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• A personal and active relationship with Jesus Christ, supporting the church vision and beliefs.
• Active involvement and membership in a local Bible teaching church aligning with Biltmore Church mission.
• Must meet NC DCDEE Lead Teacher qualifications (or be willing to obtain).
• Previous experience with children in a licensed childcare setting is preferred.
• Demonstrates willingness to learn about child development, positive guidance, and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Assist with age-appropriate learning experiences for infants through pre-K.
• Follow established classroom schedules, routines, and transition procedures.
• Provide effective communication with families, coworkers, and Academy leadership.
• Maintain active supervision and required teacher-to-child ratios at all times.
• Observe and document children’s activities and daily care.
