AtBoys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire, ourAssistant Teachers are the heart of our mission. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the future of young learners, helping them grow, explore, and thrive. If you’re passionate about early childhood education and want to make a lasting impact in our community, we’d love to have you on our team!

What You'll Do:

  • Work Full-Time: Our programs are open Monday to Friday, generally between 5:45am and 6:30pm. We prefer our staff to have consistent schedules and we are closed nights and weekends – having a life outside of work is important!
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers: Assist with lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Lead Activities: Organize and guide fun and educational activities, including reading, arts, and crafts and outdoor play; provide resources to support development through play, music, and storytelling.
  • Assist With Care: Help with diapering, potty training, rest periods, and nap schedules; help prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks.
  • Ensure Safety and Communication: Monitor children’s play, sanitizing toys, maintain records of activities, meals, and medications, and provide daily updates to parents and guardians.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience & Education: Previous experience or education in early childhood development preferred but not required. CPR certification is required; however, we provide this training in-house if you are not currently certified.
  • Communication, Teamwork & Reliability: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and solve problems efficiently.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks that require frequent standing, kneeling, and walking. Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Screening Process: Job offers are contingent upon a post-offer screening, which includes, but is not limited to, background checks, child abuse and neglect screening, and drug test.
