Wayfinder Family Services in Alameda County, CA, is seeking an experienced Child Development Specialist to provide in-home and center-based early intervention for children ages birth to five with vision impairment or multiple disabilities. You will support families, develop IFSPs, and collaborate with schools and regional centers to promote developmental progress.

The role requires a BA/BS in related fields and may involve travel up to 50%.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum BA/BS in Special Education, Child Development, Orientation and Mobility, Infant or Early Childhood, Social Work, or related field from an accredited university.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
• Familiarity with California services for infants and young children with vision loss or multiple disabilities is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide direct intervention in the child's natural environment: home, center-based site, or hospital, coordinating schedules with families.
• Conduct functional vision and developmental assessments using various tools and parent interviews.
• Develop and implement IFSP outcomes with family and education team; provide progress reports.
• Assist families in transitioning to public schools or preschool settings (Birth to 3).
• Collaborate with community-based providers to identify children with vision loss and developmental delays.
• Maintain client files and documentation, including IFSPs, IEPs, and related reports.
• Other duties as outlined in the position description.
