Job summary

Learning Lighthouse Child Development Center in Chippewa Township, PA seeks an Assistant Group Supervisor. You will support the Lead Teacher and Group Supervisor, supervise children, and help implement lesson plans emphasizing learning, play, and kindergarten readiness.

Requirements include a High School Diploma; prior experience with children is preferred. The role is full-time (35–40 hours) at our childcare facility, with duties including record-keeping and parent communication.

Qualifications

• Entry-level teaching skills and ability to work with children.
• Knowledge of child development and behavior management.
• Basic understanding of DPW regulations and Keystone Stars.
• Strong communication and interpersonal aptitude.
• Willingness to maintain confidentiality and care for children.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom in the absence of Lead Teacher or Group Supervisor.
• Ensure DPW rules are followed and supervise children.
• Assist in implementing lesson plans focused on learning and kindergarten readiness.
• Maintain daily records of observations, meals, and medications.
• Support teachers with crafts, parent communication, and classroom duties.
• Handle other duties as assigned, including routine caregiving tasks.
