Job summary

The Learning Experience – South Lyon West in Michigan is hiring an Infant Assistant Teacher to support our youngest learners. You will work under the Lead Teacher to provide individualized care for infants 6 weeks to 12 months, fostering a warm, safe, and nurturing environment.

This full-time, Monday–Friday role offers hands-on training, competitive pay of $16–$18 per hour, health/dental/vision benefits, and opportunities for professional development and career growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous infant or childcare experience preferred; CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
• Patient, nurturing, and attentive to children's individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in providing exceptional care for infants ages 6 weeks through 12 months
• Support daily routines including feeding, diapering, naps, bottle preparation, and individualized care
• Engage infants through sensory play, tummy time, music, books, and early developmental activities
• Foster secure relationships by responding to each child's individual needs with patience and care
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom that meets Michigan childcare licensing requirements
• Observe and celebrate developmental milestones while communicating daily updates with families
• Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to create a positive and supportive classroom environment
• Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations

Pay: $16–$18 per hour

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

The Learning Experience – South Lyon West is seeking a compassionate and dependable Infant Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with our youngest learners and wants to help create a warm, nurturing environment where infants feel safe, loved, and supported every day.

Working alongside an experienced Lead Teacher, you'll help provide individualized care while encouraging early developmental milestones through responsive interactions, sensory experiences, and age-appropriate activities.
