The Goddard School in Sanford, FL is seeking an Infant Room Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate activities. You will help manage the classroom, promote safety, and foster a nurturing, structured environment that supports every child's growth.

This role offers a nurturing team, no nights or weekends, 40 hours per week, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma; associate or bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Demonstrates empathy and compassion for young children.
• Able to work independently and with supervision.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass state background checks and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging.
• Communicate with families about their child’s progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations.

• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children
• Works productively without supervision
• Basic understanding of child development
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
