Job summary

Safran Aerosystems’ Wall Township facility in New Jersey designs, manufactures and maintains life-saving aircraft evacuation systems. You will work on industrial engineering projects across three sites (NJ, MS, Mexico) to optimize digital tools, data flows, and capacity reporting.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, adherence to FAA standards, and leadership in FMEA processes, with opportunities to influence global industrial processes and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • BSIE, BSME, or Systems Engineering related technical degree required plus 2 to 3 years experience or related experiences.
  • Experience in NPI project management in an industrial setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including MS Project and MS Excel.
  • Power BI basic.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation, business process integration, and industrial information systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and project progress to management.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance the capabilities of the industrial systems team.
  • Ensure technical, administrative, and budgetary oversight for projects from the design phase through full implementation, focusing on performance, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor industrialization activities to achieve targeted investments, successful equipment ramp-up, and manage post-implementation reviews.
  • Oversee project management activities related to Manufacture & Develop business processes, ensuring project goals, milestones, and deliverables are met.
  • Monitoring, notification and risk mitigation plans for Software obsolescence issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

Safran Aerosystems' Wall Township, New Jersey facility is home to the North American headquarters of our Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV). Here, you will help design, manufacture, maintain, and support life-saving aircraft evacuation systems, including emergency slides, life rafts, and flotation devices.

As part of Safran's global Aerosafety Division, you'll contribute to technologies that help protect millions of passengers and crew members every year.

This position will be responsible for the support of projects related to the Industrial systems function of the Industrial engineering group of 3 facilities of Safran evacuation systems.

Main Objectives
  • Coordinate and implement new solutions for the Industrial Engineering Group to maintain methods continuity across the company and factory levels, working with cross-functional teams in NJ, MS, and Mexico.
  • Define, implement, and optimize digital tools, standards, and processes used by industrial engineering and production for the definition, validation, control, and optimization of industrialization activities.
  • Ensure the functional and technical consistency of industrial business data flows across upstream and downstream systems (PLM, ERP, CAD, QA, EHS, etc.)
  • Support three facilities (NJ, MS, Mexico) in the collection, consolidation, and management of global capacity reporting related to similar equipment and production spaces.
  • Guarantee compliance with FAA, Aviation customer, and Safran corporate standards for all Industrial engineering functions.
  • Lead the management and improvement of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes at a business unit level.
