Job summary

SpaceXSI is seeking an Industrial Welder to support the buildout of its high-performance data centers. This on-site role requires fitting and welding large-bore piping and structural steel per ASME Section IX, ensuring quality as construction progresses.

You will collaborate with mechanical, structural, electrical, and operations teams, travel to data center sites, and stay onsite during peak construction to keep weld packages moving through turnover.

Qualifications

• Journey-level industrial construction welding experience.
• 3+ years welding large industrial piping and/or structural steel or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized welding apprenticeship or equivalent military experience.
• Current ASME Section IX qualification in GTAW on stainless and/or SMAW on carbon.
• Experience reading isometric, spool, and structural drawings.
• Ability to travel extensively to data center construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Fit, tack, and weld large-bore piping and structural steel per drawings and ASME IX WPS.
• Lay out, cut, bevel, grind, and align joints; verify fit-up and reinforcement.
• Read isometric, spool, and structural drawings; follow welding maps and heat numbers.
• Support hanging of supports and structural members; assist with equipment set and bolt-up.
• Stage and inventory pipe, fittings, and tools; keep work areas orderly.
• Follow safety rules, obtain permits, and avoid welding on live systems without authorization.
• Report damaged material, rejected welds, and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Support turnover through punch-list, repair, and NDE hold-point work.
