Job summary

SpaceXSI seeks a Certified Weld Inspector to support data center construction. You will inspect welds on piping and structural steel, verify quality from construction through turnover, and coordinate with welding, mechanical, and operations teams onsite.

The role is full-time, onsite with significant travel to data center sites. AWS/ASME knowledge and NDT certification are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience inspecting welded piping/structural steel in the field.
• Knowledge of ASME IX and AWS D1.1.
• NDT Level II per ASNT SNT-TC-1A in VT/MT/PT/UT/PAUT.
• Experience on data center, industrial, or heavy-civil construction sites.
• Willingness to work at heights, outdoors, and extended hours.
• OSHA 10 or equivalent.
• Ability to read isometric, spool, structural, and weld-map drawings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welds in progress and at completion against codes, WPS, and drawings.
• Interpret AWS, ASME, and project specs against isometrics and drawings.
• Monitor GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW to qualified procedures.
• Verify welders' qualifications before release.
• Check joint design, fit-up, cleanliness, and preheat/interpass temps.
• Verify base/filler metal per specs and handling of consumables.
• Recommend and verify repairs; inspect completed repairs.
• Oversee NDE and testing; ensure fabrication/inspection records.
