CBRE seeks an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator I in Santa Rosa, CA to operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment and related systems. You will collect samples, analyze data, and ensure compliance with permits and regulatory requirements on industrial wastewater, deionized water, and reclaimed irrigation systems.

The role reports to Engineering and Technical Services and involves routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and after-hours responses as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-5 years of job-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms, spills, and non-compliance events; support investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain records and coordinate with EHS for permit compliance.

About The Role

Looking for a hands‑on role where your wastewater treatment skills truly matter? Join CBRE as an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator I supporting a large Global HQ Operations campus in Santa Rosa!

As a CBRE Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator I you will focus on the operation of the Acid Waste Neutralizer (AWN) system. You will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment. This role includes collecting and analyzing samples, performing routine system adjustments, and ensuring treated wastewater meets applicable regulatory and permit requirements for industrial wastewater, deionized water, and reclaimed irrigation systems.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do

• Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial wastewater treatment, reclaimed water, and irrigation systems in compliance with permits, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and review samples and operational data; adjust treatment processes to maintain performance and permit compliance.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of treatment and irrigation system equipment, including cross-connection and backflow prevention controls.
• Respond to alarms, upset conditions, spills, and non‑compliance events (including after hours as required), and support investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation; coordinate with EHS to support wastewater discharge and reclaimed water irrigation permit compliance.
• Apply in‑depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share in‑depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3‑5 years of job‑related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Ability to obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification
• Ability to qualify for and participate in a respiratory protection program for chemical handling operations
• Industrial wastewater chemistry knowledge preferred.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial‑related calculations.

The minimum salary for the Industrial Waste Treatment Operator I position is $38 per hour and the maximum salary is $43 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
