Woodard & Curran is currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and client-focused Professional Engineer to join our Water Team as a Senior Technical Manager in our Industrial Water Practice. In this role, you will collaborate with our team to develop, design, and deliver various industrial water/wastewater projects across the U.S.

In response to our need for growth, Woodard & Curran offers a unique opportunity to support technical delivery and leadership in our Industrial Water Practice, which provides high-quality engineering and design services to industrial and commercial clients throughout the U.S. The selected candidate will have technical experience to lead industrial water and wastewater system designs while providing technical mentorship to a talented team of engineers. Woodard & Curran seeks a motivated senior professional with an entrepreneurial spirit, a demonstrated focus on industrial clients and safe practices, and a passion for innovation and technical excellence in the industrial water/wastewater field. The position requires a strong communicator and demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and mentor project teams.

Offering Flexible Remote Work Schedule

Travel up to 25%: Within the continental US.

  • Capacity assessments, alternatives evaluations, basis of design/evaluation development
  • Bench and pilot-scale testing
  • Water/wastewater treatment system upgrades
  • New water/wastewater treatment system designs
  • Water reuse
What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:
  • The ability to grow and succeed as a firm is a direct function of the technical expertise we develop within the firm. As such, our success is directly related to our technical experts’ abilities to innovate and differentiate the firm in the marketplace based on expertise.
  • A Senior Technical Manager is responsible for staying at the forefront of technical approaches in their field of expertise and contributing both innovation and project delivery within the areas where the expertise applies.
  • Develop and maintain client-advisor relationships that lead to business and repeat business for the firm.
  • Assist on and/or lead proposal preparation and pursuit of new client and project opportunities.
  • Contribute to new and existing Large Account development and management.
  • Make national and regional-level technical publications & presentations and serve in professional technical leadership positions in outside organizations.
  • Conduct research and innovate within project opportunities to implement new and improved methods to execute solutions for our work.
  • Develop and/or lead the development of tools to assist in demonstrating Woodard & Curran’s technical leadership.
  • Ensure the technical quality of the work product delivered.
  • Mentor staff in technical and design management skill areas.
  • Provide input to the business planning process.
What You Will Need To Succeed:
  • 15+ years of professional experience with an engineering consulting firm.
  • M.S. in Engineering preferred.
  • P.E. required.
  • Demonstrated experience serving industrial clients. Experience in the Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical/Chemical, Energy/Mining, Life Sciences, Consumer Products and/or Data Center markets is preferred.
  • Strong appreciation of and commitment to safe work practices is mandatory.
  • Experience in traditional and alternative project delivery preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal skills and demonstrated track record of publishing technical work.

$150,000 - $235,000 a year
This role has the option for remote work, and the anticipated pay range is flexible, depending on factors such as the employee's primary work location, skills, experience, and education. The following examples illustrate how the pay range for the same role can vary based on different locations.
Portland, ME: $150,000 - $200,000
Wayne, PA: $175,000 - $210,000
San Francisco, CA: $185,000 - $235,000
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided above; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will depend on experience level, and considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials recognize and reflect the cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
