Job summary

Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking an Environmental Technician for on-site work in Wheatland, PA. You will support environmental compliance, wastewater treatment operations, and sustainability initiatives, collaborating with the Environmental Manager and multiple departments.

The role requires 2+ years in industry, a relevant bachelor's degree, and proficiency with MS Office. Travel within PA and OH may be needed, with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Two+ years in environmental compliance or wastewater in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Bachelor's degree in a physical science, environmental science, or engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial wastewater treatment systems.
• Maintain NPDES permit compliance: monitoring, sampling, reporting.
• Prepare PADEP discharge monitoring reports.
• Communicate wastewater issues to Environmental Manager.
• Operate filter press equipment and housekeeping for wastewater facilities.
• Ensure compliance with TVOP permit conditions and emissions monitoring.
• Conduct daily/weekly visible emissions observations and records.
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste per regulations and procedures.
• Inspect stormwater systems, waste management practices, and storage tanks.
• Maintain environmental records, inspection logs, and regulatory reports.
• Provide environmental guidance to departments and support teams.
• Travel to PA and OH locations to support initiatives.
• Promote safe work practices per regulations and policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
