Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Abilene, Texas, is seeking an entry-level Warehouse Helper to support onsite warehouse activities and field construction work. The role involves routine shipping/receiving, inventory control, and documentation, with potential forklift operation.

The successful candidate will perform daily shipments, packing, loading, and restocking while ensuring safety and accuracy in all tasks as part of a dynamic industrial team. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Warehouse Helper in a Power Plant / Industrial setting.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day to day activities of the warehouse department, which can include shipping and receiving or products and materials, issuing tools, documentation and inventory control.
• Selects and prepares daily shipments which may include pulling orders, packaging, and completing freight/invoice paperwork for freight carriers.
• Palletizes and wraps skids and delivers completed orders and packages to designated shipping area and/or deliver to disciplines.
• Assists in loading trucks as necessary and unloads received items from trailers.
• Examines and inspects items for damage and defects; identifies incorrect/short shipped items.
• Packs, unpacks, and marks stock items, using identification labels and stickers.
• Perform onsite Warehouse inventories, maintenance and restocking, fill backorders and product bins.
• May assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and document material shorts.
• Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and on time.
• May operate forklift and other equipment – stand-up lift, sit-down lift, propane, scissor, etc
