Job summary

Conagra Brands in Waterloo, Iowa is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support plant utility systems including boiler, ammonia, refrigeration, compressed air, HVAC, and electrical systems. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and help ensure safe, reliable operation in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes root cause problem solving, 5S and Kaizen, preventative maintenance, and collaboration with vendors.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in mechanical technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience supporting industrial utility systems including boiler, ammonia and refrigeration, compressed air, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and safe manufacturing operations
• Experience with mechanical systems including pneumatics, motors, drives, gearboxes, and power transmission
• Experience interpreting technical manuals, standard operating procedures, and process instrumentation drawings
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot plant utility systems including compressed air, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, ammonia and refrigeration, boilers, waste treatment, and electrical systems
• Lead root cause problem solving and drive continuous improvement using Conagra Performance System tools and Kaizen activities
• Sustain 5S standards while identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
• Execute preventative maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and support capital and plant improvement projects
• Respond to safety concerns and actively support Process Safety Management initiatives
• Manage inventory accuracy and maintenance documentation through SAP and daily logs
• Provide backup support for critical systems including boiler and ammonia operations
• Fabricate parts and collaborate with vendors to coordinate repairs and installations
