Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Small Equipment Tech / Mechanic in St. Louis, MO to maintain, diagnose, repair and calibrate a wide range of hand tools used in industrial operations. Strong mechanical aptitude and safety focus are essential.

You will inspect and repair tools, document activities, calibrate to manufacturer specs, and train staff on proper tool use while coordinating with managers on priorities. This is a full-time on-site position with opportunities to support tool projects at various

Qualifications

• 2 years of industrial technician experience
• A valid driver's license
• HS Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements during maintenance and repair activities.
• Collaborate with technicians and departments to support equipment reliability and safety.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair hand tools (manual and power) for optimal performance and safety.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hand tool issues and identify root causes of malfunctions.
• Calibrate hand tools according to manufacturer specifications and standards for accuracy.
• Document all maintenance, repairs, and calibrations with accurate records per company policy.
• Communicate service priorities and status to the manager.
• Assist with loading and unloading of products in the warehouse or vehicles.
• Deploy to manage onsite tool projects as needed, durations vary by project.
• Provide technical support and training on proper tool use and care.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, parts pickers, or motor vehicles.
