Job summary

Smith Industrial Services seeks a Technician 1 to join our Industrial team. This entry-level role performs basic hydroblasting, vacuuming and industrial cleaning tasks, including outages and turnarounds.

You will load and unload equipment, operate vacuum trucks, comply with safety policies, and work with the crew to deliver high-quality results. Travel is required and all safety trainings must be completed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English effectively.
• Must possess a safety-first, positive attitude and work as a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the crew and division personnel.
• Must be able to operate a utility/pickup truck for hauling people and equipment.
• Must be adaptable to change with short notice.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic wet and dry vacuum truck operation & functions.
• Performs basic Hydroblasting Services, including Lance/Shotgun operation.
• Load and unload equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Performs manual tasks and assists others as needed.
• Clean vehicles, trucks, and equipment.
• Ensures that assigned tasks are performed safely with the highest level of quality.
• Reports potential issues or concerns to Crew Leader and/or Branch Manager.
• Travel is required, sometimes for long periods.
