Job summary

Seneca Resources is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to lead and execute industrial structural projects in Birmingham, AL. You will conceptualize, develop, and manage detailed plans, layouts, and drawings for steel and concrete structures, coordinating with engineers and clients to ensure compliance with codes and standards.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and strong detailing knowledge.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years' experience in structural design for industrial projects.
Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with Autodesk Revit strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of structural detailing for steel and concrete structures, including ability to create steel and concrete drawings.
Experience managing structural engineering teams on projects of various sizes.
Ability to interpret structural calculations, vendor drawings, and fabrication submittals.
Excellent communication skills and willingness to visit job sites.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of RISA and STAAD software advantageous.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, develop, and manage detailed plans, layouts, and specifications for industrial structures.
Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to meet local codes and client standards.
Guide material estimates, project scheduling, and technical documentation.
Provide construction support and fieldwork in a fast-paced setting.
