Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is hiring an Industrial Plumbing Steamfitter to support the operation, maintenance and improvement of robotics, steam systems, and machine tools.

You will own preventative maintenance, diagnose problems, repair pipes and HVAC equipment, and coordinate with contractors to ensure reliable systems. The role requires formal plumbing/HVAC credentials, years of manufacturing facility experience, and willingness to work 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• AAS degree in Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology.
• AOS degree in HVAC or Construction & Maintenance.
• Military Training Course in related field.
• 3 years work experience in a Manufacturing Facility (with references).
• 3 years proven experience in Commercial HVAC service and installation.
• Completion of 2 years of a Plumber/Steamfitter Apprentice Program (considered 3rd year).
• Journeyman Steamfitter.
• Licensed NYS Plumber.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate condition of hydraulic, steam and HVAC equipment and determine repair strategy.
• Own preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs; diagnose problems and order parts.
• Install and repair pipes, fixtures, and valves for water, gas, steam, and air systems.
• Install supports for pipes and equipment; assemble fittings and valves.
• Modify length of pipes and fittings; use saws and pipe cutters.
• Install heating and air-conditioning systems including water heaters.
• Collaborate with contractors, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters on installations.
• Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.
• Use CMMS to document issues and actions taken.
