Job summary

Corsicana Mattress Company in the United States is seeking a Sewing Operator who will operate and tend sewing machines to perform stitching tasks, join and reinforce materials, and ensure quality through tests and adjustments. You will follow orders, select materials, test equipment, and address issues to maintain production flow.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least 1 year of experience, and solid English skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English required.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
• Customer-oriented and cool-tempered.
• Previous industry experience a plus.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Refer to orders for sewing and selecting appropriate materials.
• Ensure that all materials and auxiliary supplies are available prior to beginning work.
• Start sewing machinery at the beginning of a shift and test it for proper functionality.
• Address any discrepancies or problems faced during the testing period.
• Draw threads through needles and adjust machine functions to meet the requirements of the sewing project.
• Position materials under needles to sew them together or make patterns.
• Replace and rethread needles for a subsequent project or in case of the existing one needing more thread.
• Sew missing stitches or replacement parts in accordance to repair instructions provided.
• Observe operations to detect any faults or defects in stitching.
