Job summary

Manpower is seeking a Sewing Machine Operator to join the Production Department and support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate focuses on safety, detail, and teamwork while contributing to high-quality seams.

The role involves operating industrial sewing machines to assemble heavy-duty blankets and textiles, following templates and work orders, with a daytime schedule and potential overtime, in a production environment emphasizing safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 1 year of industrial or upholstery sewing experience with heavy fabrics or technical textiles.
• Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and basic preventive maintenance skills.
• Ability to read templates, patterns, tape measures, and production travelers, plus basic math for measurements.

Responsibilities

• Cut, assemble, and sew heavy-duty blankets for engines and exhaust systems.
• Operate walking-foot, zig-zag, and bar-tack machines to stitch multi-layer textiles.
• Follow templates, work orders and quality standards for consistent seams and closures.
• Handle materials up to ~25 lbs and follow proper material handling procedures.
• Conduct in-process quality checks for stitch density and alignment.
