Affordable Interior Systems Inc. in Leominster, MA is seeking an Industrial Sewing Operator to sew office chairs, cushions and related components using traditional sewing machines and equipment.

The role requires prior experience sewing office chairs, basic production paperwork reading, and willingness to work overtime as needed. The position is full-time, non-exempt, on the 1st shift under the Chair Assembly department.

Responsibilities

  • Stitcher – Stitches fabrics, vinyls, leathers using industrial sewing machines following established practices.
  • Single needle, double needle, top stitch as required.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Responsible to produce cleanly tailored upholstery with minimal wrinkles/pleats particularly around curved shapes.
  • Follows established procedures to ensure correct application of fabrics.
  • Aligns cut/sewn covers to ensure correct appearance.
  • Filling in in other departments (cutting, gluing, assembly, packing, material handling, etc.) when capacity issues arise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Function

Sew office chairs, cushions and various other components using traditional sewing machines/equipment.
