Job summary

Ten-8 Fire & Safety is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain vehicles and equipment in the Aftermarket function. You will guide junior technicians, assist senior staff on complex repairs, and demonstrate abilities with minimal supervision.

The role requires reading schematics, following safety procedures, and maintaining high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment. CDL is preferred but not required, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Repair lifts, booms, scissor lifts, construction forklifts, and vehicles accurately and timely.
• Interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to perform repairs safely.
• Assist other technicians with maintenance and ensure safety regulations are followed.
• Collaborate with advanced technicians to improve maintenance practices and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot lifts and determine resolutions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

SUMMARY

The Service Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining vehicles within the Aftermarket function. This role will guide associate level Service Technicians to further their knowledge and abilities. Assist the senior level and lead level Service Technicians on more complex repairs to develop their skills, as well as, demonstrate their abilities without needing close supervision.

REPORTING

The position reports directly to the Dustin Robinson, Service Manager.

LOCATION:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Repair boom lifts, scissor lifts, construction forklifts, various equipment, and vehicles in an accurate and timely manner.
• Understand the electrical and hydraulic schematics to be able to complete the repairs correctly and safely.
• Assist other technicians with maintenance and ensure to comply by safety regulations.
• Leverage advanced technicians to further understanding of proper maintenance practices, safely procedures, and efficiency of work.
• Support team members in troubleshooting different types of lifts and determining the resolution.
• Actively seeking ways to retain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to create standard correspondence both written and verbal. Ability to work from oral and written instructions.

LANGUAGE WRITING SKILLS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Two (2) or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• CDL preferred but not required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, algebra, and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variances in standardized specifications.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Lifting 100 lbs. maximum with assistance and frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
• Sitting 10%, standing 70% and walking 20%.

WORK CONDITIONS

• Spends approximately 75% of the time outdoors.
