Job description

Senior Industrial Project Architect

Senior industrial project architects will lead the planning, design, documentation, and construction administration of multiple building types across diverse markets, including data centers, water treatment facilities, manufacturing plants, office spaces, operation centers, and maintenance facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Be knowledgeable in technical design concepts, code applications, design management skills, digital technologies, and design workflows for industrial‑type facilities.
  • Lead owner/client and internal meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Lead project teams ranging in experience to successfully complete and deliver construction documents and intermediate milestone deliverables.
  • Work with the Project Manager to proactively manage scope and schedule.
  • Manage and undertake design activities and the production of detailed documents required for construction.
  • Independently coordinate the multidisciplinary team through all project phases.
  • Review architectural documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
  • Perform QA/QC and cross‑discipline technical reviews.
  • Write and edit architectural specifications.
  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders.
  • Incorporate agreed‑upon changes into project documents.
  • Provide construction observation and contract administration as needed.
  • Conduct work sessions at project sites with client representatives, project managers, and other disciplines.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in industrial architecture, such as data centers, water treatment facilities, public utility facilities, operations centers, aerospace, manufacturing.
  • LEED accreditation with experience and/or interest in sustainable design.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience facilitating meetings with a range of stakeholders: engineers, client, contractors, subcontractors, AHJs.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to client contract requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Registered Architect.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and related tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
  • Experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills.
  • Commitment to active participation in an employee‑owned culture.

  • Salary range: Minnesota: $108,854 – $155,505; Illinois: $114,037 – $162,910; Colorado: $114,037 – $162,910.
