Job summary

Shearer's Foods is seeking a Sanitation Technician to maintain cleanliness across production and non-production areas, following the Master Sanitation Schedule and GMP guidelines. You will use power washers and chemicals to ensure cleanliness and maintain sanitation logs.

The role includes cleaning equipment and plant facilities, with training to operate a forklift and scissor lift, and performing related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning with power-washing equipment and chemical cleaning.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to high temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, loud noise, allergens, elevated heights and hot surfaces.
• Knowledge of counting and basic math.
• Ability to read and comprehend written material.
• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Responsibilities

• Sanitation Technician responsible for production and non-production areas per MSS.
• Clean equipment using chemicals and power washers and maintain sanitation cleaning logs.
• May be trained to operate a forklift and a scissor lift.
• Clean office areas, hallways, locker rooms and break rooms; cleanup of trash and vacuum carpets; snow removal as needed.
