Job summary

New Indy Ontario Llc is seeking a Safety Coordinator to assist the Safety Manager in promoting a strong safety culture at the mill. The role focuses on preventing accidents, ensuring OSHA compliance, and strengthening procedures across supervisors and shop floor staff.

You will conduct training sessions, perform regular safety audits, and coordinate safety improvement projects while maintaining equipment and supplies. A collaborative, hands-on approach is essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• OSHA and safety regulations knowledge with ability to apply them.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Experience with safety auditing and incident investigations.
• Ability to train staff and educate leaders on safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Educate supervisors and staff on safety standards and procedures.
• Ensure OSHA compliance; conduct audits and identify improvements.
• Review and enhance safety procedures.
• Serve as backup trainer for OSHA-related trainings.
• Collect Safety Observation Cards and enter safety work orders.
• Plan projects to improve workplace safety and maintain equipment.
• Participate in Safety Committee Meetings.
