Industrial Robot Programmer Technician Trainee

Location:

• Primarily in Southeast Michigan
• Occasional out-of-state travel possible

Overview

This is an entry‑level, hands‑on technical position for individuals interested in learning and applying robotic programming skills in the manufacturing industry.

Primary Responsibilities

• Set up and program industrial robots on customer job sites
• Perform robotic path and position touch-ups
• Teach and verify TCPs (Tool Center Points) and frames
• Load and adjust offline programs
• Adjust robot dress packs to prevent wear and rubbing
• Duplicate robotic configurations (axis limits, hard stops, etc.) across multiple units
• Back up robot programs
• Submit billing and documentation paperwork accurately
• Use Microsoft Office applications to complete reports and forms
• Follow safety protocols and work effectively both independently and on a team

Ideal Background (Crossover Skills May Include)

• FIRST Robotics experience
• Computer programming
• Automotive repair or fabrication
• Electrical or mechanical systems
• Design/build experience

Job Conditions & Expectations

• Long periods of standing and movement in/around machinery
• Climbing ladders regularly
• Lifting up to 25 lbs and loading parts into tooling
• Ability to work varying shifts including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation is requiredWeekly time reporting required
