Job summary

gpac is partnering with an established Houston mechanical contractor to hire an Industrial Refrigeration Service Technician with strong ammonia refrigeration expertise. This role focuses on hands-on service and troubleshooting of large industrial systems in food-processing environments.

The position is on-site in Houston, TX, full-time, offering competitive hourly pay and benefits including medical insurance, 401(k), and paid vacation; relocation assistance may be available for qualified

Qualifications

• Heavy hands-on ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Strong industrial refrigeration service background.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair ammonia refrigeration systems.

Industrial Refrigeration Service Technician - Ammonia

Houston, TX | Full-Time

We are working with an established Houston mechanical contractor looking for an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Service Technician with strong ammonia refrigeration experience.

This is not a general commercial refrigeration position. Candidates must have hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting large industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.

What You'll Work On

• Industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
• Compressors and compressor packages
• Refrigeration rack systems
• Evaporators, condensers, pumps, and associated equipment
• Cold-storage and refrigerated distribution facilities
• Large food-processing or industrial refrigeration environments
• Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and emergency service

Required Experience

• Heavy hands-on ammonia refrigeration experience
• Strong industrial refrigeration service background
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex refrigeration systems
• Experience with compressors, controls, evaporators, condensers, and related equipment
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Comfortable working in large industrial refrigeration environments
• Stable work history
• Valid driver's license

Preferred

• 8+ years of industrial refrigeration experience
• Experience in food processing, cold storage, distribution, manufacturing, or process refrigeration
• RETA, CIRO, CARO, or similar industry training/certifications
• Experience with multiple industrial refrigeration system types and controls

Compensation & Benefits

• $40-$65+ per hour, depending on experience
