Job summary

Bassett Mechanical, a third-generation family-owned company, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to establish and maintain design/build refrigeration activity, and to design and install refrigeration systems as an engineering resource for the department.

You will collaborate with drafters, assist with cost estimates and proposals, and provide technical support for ammonia refrigeration and PSM programs, including calculations and equipment selections.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to understand, analyze and troubleshoot refrigeration and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Directly communicate with customers to define needs and respond to requests.
• Collaborate with drafters to develop construction drawings and P&IDs.
• Assist estimators in developing cost estimates for engineering, fabrication and construction.
• Coordinate with staff to provide estimates, drawings, energy projections, schedules and proposals.
• Provide technical engineering support for ammonia refrigeration systems and PSM programs.
• Develop engineering calculations, pipe sizing, valve sizing, insulation, and vessel sizing.
• Prepare documentation for turnover to project management with drawings and contract documents.
