Qualifications

If you are an HVAC Technician or Electrician looking to move into industrial ammonia work - you could be the next great addition to our IR team! Want a career where you can use your skills and travel for work? Our Industrial Refrigeration (IR) team is hiring an Apprentice to service our customers in the surrounding Harrisonburg, VA. Our IR Apprentices work closely with Technicians to perform maintenance and repair operations pertaining to large, complex industrial cooling/refrigeration systems and associated control systems. A day in the life:

  • Work with an experienced technician to learn the IR business
  • Diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns
  • Test parts with appropriate instruments
  • Disassemble and assemble parts
  • Make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components
  • Develop expertise of evaporative condensers, large control systems, complex conventional electrical controls and Industrial Refrigeration Systems (ammonia, cascade and rack systems with the ability to rebuild commercial/industrial compressors)

You should have:

  • Experience working in HVAC service
  • Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration (preferred, but not required)
  • Ability and willingness to learn the industrial refrigeration business
  • Willingness to travel to a variety of customer sites
  • Possess electrical and controls knowledge and experience relative to industrial or nuclear equipment
  • Completion, or in the process of completing, applicable trade school (preferred, but not required)
  • Ability to work in hot/cold environments
  • Ability to work closely with technician when needed and also without direct supervision at times
  • Must have a clean driving record and able to pass a drug screen and background check
