Job summary

Xylem in Pewaukee, WI is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to work on large industrial pumps and rotating equipment. This role emphasizes hands-on assembly, disassembly, inspection, and rebuilding with a focus on safety and precision.

You will perform hydrostatic and performance tests, read mechanical drawings, operate overhead cranes, and package pumps for shipment. The position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus, competitive hourly pay, 20 days PTO, and comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in heavy mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance or repair of pumps, motors, gearboxes or rotating equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Experience using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, torque tools).

Responsibilities

• Tearing down, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding industrial pumps and rotating equipment.
• Performing hydrostatic and performance testing using test stands and specialized tools.
• Operating overhead cranes, hoists, rigging, and material-handling equipment.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, work instructions, and test standards.
• Prepping, painting, and packaging pumps and components for shipment.
• Supporting receiving, stocking, and fulfillment of parts and pump orders.
• Maintaining a clean, safe work environment and following lockout/tagout procedures.
