Job summary

KFI Engineers is seeking a Project & Field Services Lead in Fargo, ND to bridge design and field execution for the Industrial, Process & Agribusiness group. You will oversee piping, MEP, field activities, safety/regulatory compliance, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial systems, with proven leadership to coordinate teams and communicate with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the design, installation, operation, or commissioning of MEP systems.
• Knowledge of the heavy industrial field including agribusiness, biofuels, ethanol, and/or chemical manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical/process piping systems, HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems, plumbing and MEP commissioning.
• Experience supporting engineering projects through procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup phases.
• Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Travel: May include 5-20% domestic travel.

Responsibilities

• Review piping drawings, 3D models, piping isometrics, P&IDs to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Generate and drive project deliverable registers (equipment, line, valve, instrument, tie-point, piping lists).
• Attend design reviews, model reviews, and project coordination meetings.
• Drive preliminary and detail engineering efforts (design and calculations).
• Ensure development of project specifications, requirements, and scope of work.
• Manage KFI field activities during the engineering phase of projects.
• Manage and drive project progress and support milestone tracking and reporting.
• Assessment and implementation of enhanced electronic tools to improve project documents.
