Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking engineers to analyze and design operation sequences and workflows to optimize plant efficiencies and layouts. You will help establish methods for max facility and personnel utilization and support cost/control studies and production-record systems.

The role may involve developing and implementing facility modification plans and assisting in facilities planning and design. Relocation is not offered; US citizenship is required to start.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Bachelor's degree: 5+ years relevant exempt experience.
• Master's degree: 3 years relevant professional experience.
• Ph.D. and 0 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.
• Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
• Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
• Develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
• Assist facilities engineers in planning and design of facilities.
